The Story
Coyo Taco grew up in Wynwood, Miami, on the same streets as Dante's HiFi, the listening bar that changed what a bar could be. Oscar G and Walshy Fire played the taqueria before it was cool to say you had been. Music has always been in the room.
Bar Coyo is just the version with its own front door.
In London, that door is hidden inside the taqueria on Orchard Place, St James's. Find it and you are in a different world: darker, slower, tuned for listening.
The room
The DJ booth sits at the heart of the bar, facing the room. Lighting stays low. Phones stay down. The room is deliberately small, so the sound and the company both get the attention they deserve. Reserve a table online, or try the door. Weekends are booking territory.
The sound
Bar Coyo runs an L-Acoustics sound system, the hardware trusted by the world's leading concert venues, with an AlphaTheta Euphonia rotary mixer, Technics 1210s and CDJ-3000s behind the decks. Built as a listening environment first. Our DJs treat it accordingly.
The bar
The list leads with agave. Tequila and mezcal from house pours to rare bottles, agave-forward cocktails, and a spicy margs menu we take as seriously as the records. For those who want to go further into the spirits, a small number of private tequila lockers hold a personally chosen bottle from our list, with your name above the door and a key of your own. Availability is limited. Ask the team about the waitlist.
